Sudbury Peace Tower

Sudbury water tower lit up as the biggest goal light in the world
The water tower lighting project features more than 100 lighting fixtures and 2,500 LEDs, designed by Andre Labelle of Y-Lighting. When it doesn’t serve as a goal light, it will feature dynamic, colour-changing lights at night, similar to the CN Tower in Toronto. The network connectivity for this project is crucial as the lights need to be remotely triggered over the internet when the Sudbury Wolves score a goal, making the Sudbury Peace Tower the biggest goal light in the world!
Northern WiFi ensures this robust network is extremely reliable as all the equipment on site can be accessed and programmed remotely. In the pro lighting world, this was a task that had not been done before as we are physically linking the 2 lighting consoles directly over the internet using multiple proprietary VPN protocols. This needed to be done as the lighting control system is designed to work within a building's local network. The VPN was also important so we could connect the live camera feed located at Brady Square back to the arena jumbotron.
Now fans at the game can see the peace tower lighting up in real-time when the Wolves score!

We're very happy to have worked on this exciting project with Y-Lighting, Nor-Tec Industries, & SWSE.
